Hacks 2: Deborah Vance and Ava Hit the Road in Latest Trailer

HBO may be exceptional when it comes to producing dramas, but they also come up with comedic gems—one of which is Hacks starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. The series is set to return for its second season next month, and we have a new trailer showcasing the fabulous Deborah Vance going on tour with her comedy writing partner Ava.

With the first season having us explore Deborah’s life in a creative rut, we now have her and Hannah going around on tour to test out Deborah’s new material. While there is now a newfound respect between the two leads, there is still always going to be that push and pull of Deborah being a rich diva, and Ava being an entitled millennial.

Besides the two leads, the show also has a fantastic supporting cast. Carl Clemons-Hopkins is great as Deborah’s manager Marcus, and Megan Statler always manages to get a laugh even if her role as Kayla is pretty limited. It looks like the season is going to be introducing some new faces as well, so it’s going to be fun to not just watch the ridiculous lavishness of Deborah’s lifestyle while the very liberal Ava can do nothing but criticize all of it.

We don’t know how long Hacks is expected to run, but the show does have a very solid premise with a lot of room for both Deborah and Ava to grow as characters. May can’t come fast enough.
