Gus and the Hybrids Return in First Images for Sweet Tooth Season 2

Robert Downey Jr. may not have been able to get the Doctor Dolittle franchise off the ground, but he did have some more success with another animal show with Netflix’s Sweet Tooth. The series is expected to return next month, and we have our first look featuring returning characters and then some.

it’s also worth noting that the show has also added Amie Donald (from M3GAN) to the cast. It looks like she’ll be playing another hybrid character as well.

Here’s the synopsis (via TV Line):

“As a deadly new wave of the Sick bears down, Gus (Christian Convery) and a band of fellow hybrids are held prisoner by General Abbot (Neil Sandilands) and the Last Men. Looking to consolidate power by finding a cure, Abbot uses the children as fodder for the experiments of captive Dr. Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar), who’s racing to save his infected wife Rani (Aliza Vellani). To protect his friends, Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, beginning a dark journey into his origins and his mother Birdie’s (Amy Seimetz) role in the events leading up to The Great Crumble.”

With The Last of Us having just ended, it’s pretty strategic planning on Netflix’s part to release their post-apocalyptic show featuring a guardian protecting an adopted child. I guess where The Last of Us has mushroom people, Sweet Tooth comes with these adorable hybrid animal kids.
