We just got news that Love, Death + Robots had been greenlit for a fourth season, but Guillermo del Toro has decided to reveal his anthology show for Netflix.
Check out this first look at Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities:
Here’s the official description:
Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is a collection of sinister stories, told by some of today’s most revered horror creators – including the directors of The Babadook, Splice, Mandy, and many more.
“In this anthology, we have ownership of each episode to the directors. Each of these episodes has a whole world. They present you with different delights. Some are savory, some are sweet—you get a surprise from each of the bites,” explains del Toro.
While the directors do get the spotlight in the trailer, it’s worth noting that the stories are also adapted from famous authors as well. Pickman’s Model and The Dreams in the Witch House are short stories from renowned horror author H.P. Lovecraft. Some shorts are also original stories from writers like David S. Goyer and even del Toro himself.
Though we are getting the Pinocchio movie from del Toro, this feels like a property that’s more inside his wheelhouse, what with the practical monsters and creepy tone—perfect for Halloween spooky times.
Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities will have a daily release of episodes and will release in the Halloween season, Oct. 25.
