Two members of the movie and TV Bat-family are about to star in their own action thriller, although the Batman will be noticeably absent in it. “Gotham’s” Ben McKenzie, who plays Detective (now Captain) James Gordon, joins Aaron Eckhart in the upcoming action-thriller flick “Live.”
McKenzie’s rise to fame began in his role as Ryan in the American teen drama “The O.C.,” and went on to star as Batman’s only trusted cop in “Gotham” back in 2014. Eckhart, on the other hand, is more popularly known as Harvey Dent, AKA Two-Face, in director Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.” Eckhart also starred in a couple of other action films, with the most recent being “Olympus Has Fallen,” playing the PotUS alongside Gerard Butler.
This isn’t the first time that Eckhart worked with someone from “Gotham’s” cast, though. In 2014, Eckhart starred alongside David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne in the FOX series, in the horror film “Incarnate.”
According to Variety, “Live” is currently in pre-production, and it follows the story of a disgraced cop Penny (Eckhart) who is tasked to save the Police Commissioner’s daughter from a kidnapper (McKenzie). Penny also teams up with a young online reporter, with the journalist filming the entire thing live.
“Live” will be directed by Steve C. Miller from a screenplay penned by “The Other Side” scribe Jeremy Drysdale. The film also stars Courtney Eaton, Jessica Miesel, Betsy Landin, Nickola Shreli, and Mason McCulley.
