Ari Sandel is developing a sequel to “Goosebumps,” a movie based on one of the many works of R.L. Stine. Set to play leads are Ben O’Brien, Caleel Harris, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Madison Iseman. Sony Pictures, the studio the movie will be under, is still casting the lead mom role according to Deadline.
Starring Jack Black, “13 Reasons Why” star Dylan Minnette, and Odeya Rush, “Goosebumps” premiered October 2015 and grossed $150.1 million at the worldwide box office. Producing the upcoming comedy-horror film are Neal H. Moritz of Original Film and Deborah Forte of Silvertongue Films and Scholastic Entertainment, the publisher of the original books. Rob Lieber is the scriptwriter.
Well-versed cast for ‘Goosebumps: Horrorland’
“Goosebumps: Horrorland” is in good hands with three of the main cast having experience with horror-themed projects.
Iseman was in “Tales of Halloween,” an anthology horror film, “Ticket to a Haunted Mansion,” “Ghost Squad,” and “I Know Where Lizzie Is.” Taylor, on the other hand, played Ben Hanscom in the 2017 remake of Stephen King’s “It.” As for Harris, the child actor has been in a few episodes of “Castle Rock,” another project based on the works of Stephen King. They may be young, but they have already been in and starred in some major films.
Iseman has also been in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” as Bethany. Taylor is working with James Corden on a SnapChat series. Harris was Duke in “Think Like A Man Too,” along with big names like Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, and Gabrielle Union. O’Brien, however, has only briefly appeared in “Manchester By The Sea.” This gig makes “Goosebumps 2” his first major project.
The plot for “Goosebumps 2” is still unknown; it is initially set to premiere on October later this year.
