Go Behind the Scenes With the Cast of NBC’s TIMELESS

We don’t often do this, so head’s up. We’re about to gush unashamedly about NBC’s new time-travel series Timeless for a moment before composing ourselves and getting on with this report.
Timeless is a rip-roaring, swashbuckling adventure in the grand tradition with instantly lovable leads, an inscrutable bad guy (or is he?), wry comments on American history and a dollop of perfectly timed comedy.
If you like the kind of high-stakes action-adventure genre drama on offer here then it’s really impossible not to fall in love with Timeless. But if you somehow manage to watch the first hour and come away feeling that something is missing, rest assured — it’s just you. And that empty space where your heart should be.
Ok we’re done. On with the reporting.
NBC have given us some behind the scenes footage, featuring comments and observations from the cast and crew including Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Abigail Spencer and show runner Eric Kripke.
Speaking of the special chemistry between the three leads, Malcolm Barrett, who plays nerdy scientist and pilot Rufus, observes “They all come from a different place, and have a different experience and they all bring something different to the team.”
“What makes for a good TV show is a good story,” adds Matt Lanter (Wyatt Logan), “but ultimately it’s more about characters.”
Showrunner Eric Kripke however is about more than just characterization.
Just recently the Supernatural creator shared a photo over Twitter in which the Alamo was being re-created — for just a single episode.
See how f-ing nuts we are on @NBCTimeless? We’re building The Alamo. THE ALAMO. For 1 episode! Pic by #JohnMarcynuk pic.twitter.com/54BkILeR6l

“It’s going to be one of the biggest things that anyone has seen on network television,” Kripke says in the video below, referencing the pilot’s plot-line, which sees our reluctant time travellers at the site of the famous Hindenburg disaster.

The big and beautiful Timeless airs Mondays on NBC (10-11 p.m. ET) from October 3.
