Glee Docuseries will Explore Controversies Behind Show

Glee was probably one of the biggest shows of the 2010s, and though the series had fizzled out by the end, there had been word going around that things weren’t going so well behind the scenes. Apparently, all this controversy was big enough that Discovery+ has decided to make a whole show around it.

According to Deadline, Ample Entertainment, the company behind The Invisible Pilot and 9 Months with Courtney Cox, will be producing a three-part docuseries that will ‘lift a curtain to reveal the highs and lows’ of the making of Glee.

We don’t have any specifics about the series, but rumors have been going around about the show and its cast that some have considered to the production to be ‘cursed.’ Besides the death of star Cory Monteith before the series ended, Mark Salling, who played Puck, pleaded guilty of possession of child pornography and killed himself before his sentence. Most recently, Naya Rivera, who played Santana, also died after going missing on a boat trip.

There is also the case of Lea Michele, who, though she wasn’t in danger of death, was said to have been a real bully on the set of Glee, and several of her co-stars have spoken out about how much of a real-life diva she could be on the set.

Seeing that the show was huge back then, it’s going to be interesting getting an inside look of what really happened on the set. Glee was such a formative series for a lot of young adults, and it’s curious what really went down behind the series about singing dorks.
