Girl From Nowhere Season 1 Episode 5 Recap – Social Love

They started the episode with an orientation event at the school. A guy is drumming when Nanno dances in the middle and hits Hann. Nanno is talking to Han, and she is thanking him when they got captured on the video and were asked to have a picture together. Students asked for Nanno’s name, and they started to ship her with Hann, with “Hanno” as their ship name. They asked them to wave at the camera. The couple got famous, and everyone started to like them being together.

Yui was having practice for their band when she saw the Facebook page under the name of Hann and Nanno. She texted Hann, and Hann read the message.

Everyone saw that Hann was smiling while looking at his phone. They asked him if he was talking with Nanno. Yui is waiting for Hann in the place they are supposed to meet. Hann arrived, and he lay on Yui’s lap. He apologized to Yui and told her that it was Jer’s idea to make him famous, and Yui said to him that he was already popular. Yui told him that she would talk to Jer and tell him to focus on another story other than Hann and Nanno. Hann said to her that what he has with Nanno are just pure imagination and his soulmate, and the one that he loves is Yui. Hann received a message from Jer, and they told him that Nanno had disappeared.

Everyone helped on finding Nanno. She was stuck inside one of the cubicles in the comfort room of their school. They heard her asking for help. Hann tried opening the door by kicking it. He carried Nanno outside the cubicle. He tried to wake Nanno up, and Nanno hugged him.

Yui is watching them. Everyone urges them to get together already. Hann stops them and tells them that Nanno may already have a boyfriend, but Nanno reveals she doesn’t have one. She also asks Hann if he has a girlfriend already. Hann also says that he doesn’t have a girlfriend yet.

Nanno stops them to tease her with Hann and that she knows that they are just an imaginary pairing. She almost leaves the place when Hann stops her and asks her to be his girlfriend. Everyone giggles because of that. Nanno agreed to be his girlfriend but on one condition. Hann cannot leave Nanno. Yui is there, watching the two of them, and she is hurt. Everyone cheered for “Hanno.” The number of likes on their Facebook page increased. Everyone is giving their opinion about Hann and Nanno. They are all happy about it. The fans started to ship them with merchandise that everyone could buy. Yui texted Hann, and Hann explained that what he was doing was all for the likes. Yui reminded him of their date, and he was already waiting for him.

Hann is ready to leave and go to Yui when Jer and Nanno enter his room. Nanno told Hann that she had a nightmare. She also told him that she wanted to watch Hann sleep, so she came to his room. The next day, Hann and Nanno are having lunch together. Nanno made a lunchbox for Hann. Nanno feed Hann in front of everyone. The number of likes on their Facebook page continues to increase. Nanno danced with Hann in front of everyone.

All of them are enjoying to sees their ship, Hann and Nanno. Yui cannot do anything but watch them. She walked out of place and went to the room. They always see each other with Hann. Hann followed her and asked her what was wrong. Yui is mad about everything. Hann reminds her that it was all just an act for the show. Hann tries to calm Yui down. Yui told Hann to break up with Nanno. He tries to calm her down again and tells Yui that she will break up with Nanno after two days. Hann promised her that he would do what he promised to Yui. Yui told him to seal his promise with a kiss. They almost kissed when everyone entered the room and saw the two of them.

Nanno acted like she was hurt and cried. She walks out of the area. Jer told Hann to go and chase Nanno. Nanno cried, and Hann followed him. Nanno asked Hann if he and Yui were in love with each other. Hann told her the truth that he and Yui were in a relationship. Hann also told her that he wanted everyone to be happy, so he dated Nanno. Hann keeps on explaining when Nanno laughs out loud. Hann was a little bit surprised because of her laugh.

Nanno told him that he had known since the start of school that something was happening between him and Yui. She knows Hann wanted to become famous and make everyone happy, so he just helped him. Hann nodded his head and told her to break up. Nanno acted again and told him that she would tell everyone that Hann broke her heart and Yui ruined her relationship with Hann. Nanno said to him that in the end, no matter how she tells everyone the story, Hann’s popularity will drop. The people shipping them will believe her more than Hann because she has the evidence. All she has to do is act better, and people will sympathize with her more. Hann walks away from the room after that.

Everyone is starting to bully Yui because of what they saw in the room; she and Hann are together inside. They are bullying her on the internet. The number of likes on Hann and Nanno’s Facebook page continues to increase. Yui told Hann that everyone was bullying her. Hann told her he was also screwed because Nanno was manipulating the situation. Nanno was playing basketball when someone approached her and played with her. Yui paid him. She spread the photos everywhere, but Nanno’s fans caught her and started to record her.

Everyone is wearing Hann and Nanno’s masks the next day and staring at Yui. She could not take all the staring anymore, so she went above the table and told everyone if they were all out of their minds already. She warned them, but everyone started throwing things at her and chanted, “Hanno.” Yui is inside the comfort room to clean herself, and Hann follows her. Yui asked for Nanno’s cellphone number. She has a plan, but it backfired her. Nanno’s fans trapped Yui, and they started to hurt her. Yui asked for Hann’s help. Later that night, Hann cleaned the wounds on Yui’s face. Hann thought that if Nanno died, he would pretend to be sad and become accessible again. Hann wrote a letter to Nanno telling her to meet him on the rooftop.

Yui is there, waiting for Nanno to come. When Nanno enters the rooftop, Yui hits her in the head. Yui is ready to push Nanno off the rooftop. No later than that, everyone saw that Nanno had fallen on the rooftop. Everyone saw Nanno bleeding. Hann acted like he didn’t know what happened and went to Nanno. He told everyone to call an ambulance. Yui is shocked about what happened. Everyone comforted Hann because of what happened to Nanno. Yui is inside her room and what happened on the rooftop keeps replaying in her head.

Nanno is laughing at her face, and Nanno makes herself fall off the rooftop. She even thanked her for making Nanno and Hann be together forever. Hann arrived at Yui’s room and told her she had done it. Yui told Hann that she didn’t do it. She looked anxious, but Hann overlooked that. He just told Yui that he was happy. Yui told him to stick to the plan and put on a sad face when he received a text message. He returns to the hospital, and the doctor tells them that Nanno survives, but she will be vegetative for the rest of her life. He needs someone to take care of her. Everyone told Hann that as her boyfriend, he would take care of Nanno and stay with her forever and ever. The episode ended with everyone chanting “Hanno.” Nanno thanked Yui for making her be with Hanno forever.

Our Thoughts

Popularity is what everyone wants in life, and being famous is something you want to achieve and experience. When Hann gets that opportunity, he grabs it right away, even if he doesn’t know that the consequence of that action is to lose the person he loves and to be with someone for the rest of his life. We should aim higher for ourselves, but we should ensure that we are on the right path and making the right and best decisions for our future. Only one mistake and the wrong choice can ruin us and our future. Using other people to achieve our dreams while forgetting how to do the right thing is one of the things we need to avoid in life.
