Apple TV+ may not have any series dominating the conversation like Wednesday or Rings of Power, but they do have the surprise hit that is Ted Lasso. The series is set to come back for a third season, and we have a new trailer announcing the return.
Check it:
The teaser doesn’t really feature anything from the third season, but we pretty much get the spirit of all of characters who are on Ted’s side. We also have a description for Season 3 which teases all the character arcs for the show:
In this third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United. In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.
With Nate jumping over to West Ham United, a lot of fans were shocked to see him become the coach of the antagonists, especially with Nate being the soft-spoken character he was back in the first season.
Personally, I’m hoping Nate finds himself back on Team Lasso by the end of the season. While he is a good coach, I think that having Nate work under another bully in the form of Rupert could just push him to switch sides again—either that or coach another team that won’t be as apprehensive.
Ted Lasso returns with a third season on Apple TV+ on March 15.
