Gen V: Meet Some Young Supes in First Look at The Boys Spinoff

It’s going to be a while before we can get back to Butcher and The Boys on Amazon Prime Video, but we are getting a spinoff based on some younger supes with Gen V. Prime has just dropped the first look for the series, and it promises another super-powered bloodbath.

Here’s the series official logline (via Variety):

 “Gen V” “is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part ‘Hunger Games’ — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of ‘The Boys.’”

Though the series does feature some new characters, we see that we’re going to have some appearances from characters in the original show. Besides Ashley the PR lady who is constantly terrorized by Homelander, we also have A-Train, who a lot of fans are suspecting is going to be written based on whatever crazy stunt Kanye West is doing next.

With The Boys focusing on full-grown adults trying to deal with the superhero crisis, it’s going to be interesting to see it from the lens of kids who have yet to know just how dark the world of superheroes is in their reality. I guess the series also has a chance to keep poking fun at the capitalization of superheroes by mirroring how big companies do the same thing in real life.  

Watch out for Gen V when it comes to Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2023.
