The Flash will be returning with a new season as the hit TV series’ showrunner Todd Helbing spills new details about what’s in store, including another version of Harrison Wells, according to TVLine.
The new Wells will go by the name Sherloque, who is “a master detective from a different earth,” said Helbing. The character, still played Tom Cavanagh, is set to aide the team in tracking down Cicada (Chris Klein) but may not be taken too kindly by Ralph (Hartley Sawyer). Sherloque will also be given a love interest, Helbing added.
The series’ fourth season ended with the mystery girl (Jessica Parker Kennedy) revealing herself as Nora Allen; Harry Wells returns to Earth-2, a preview of Caitlin’s Killer Frost origins, and the defeat of arch enemy DeVoe (Neil Sandilands).
The new season is said to focus on the metas and their origins and how it all ties them together. The new arch enemy Cicada has different powers from season 4’s DeVoe and will have a new impact on the team of speedsters. Meanwhile, Nora will test her parents’ relationship and Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry (Grant Gustin) “become second to mom and dad.” Cisco (Carlos Valdez) tries his best to get over his breakup with Gypsy (Jessica Camacho), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) searches for her Killer Frost past, and Ralph tries to prove his worth as a superhero.
The Flash season 5 premieres Tuesday, October 9th at 8/9c on The CW.
