Though Spider-Man has had his share of iconic villains, there are some more obscure characters in that roster—one of which is The Spot, whose body is covered in interdimensional portals. What’s cool is, he’s actually going to be one of the villains in Across the Spider-Verse, and we have our first image of him going up against Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy.

Besides out first look, it’s also been revealed that the character is going to be voiced by Jason Schwartzman (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World).
In the comics, Spot has the ability to transport anything and anyone via these interdimensional holes that cover his body. He’s also able to conjure up portals and has claimed to be immortal, with his body always reconstructing in the ‘spotted dimension.’
Though he looks pretty plain in the comics, I really love his design in this film, where the spots in his body look more fluid—kind of like Watchmen’s Rorschach, except it’s his whole body covered in the ink blots.
It’s unclear if the Spot is going to be the main villain of the film, but seeing as he’s a character that directly deals with interdimensional travel, it would make sense for him to have something to do with the whole ‘Spider-Verse’ plot.
Catch Across the Spider-Verse Part 1 when it hits theaters on June 2, 2023.
