Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been giving us a look at the new elves, dwarves, and ‘harfoots’ that will be introduced in the series, but we have yet to get a look at the main species of the enemy troops—the orcs.
Just in, we have some new photos of these corrupted elves, and they look just as great as the orcs from the Peter Jackson films. Check them out:

Besides the fantastic creature designs, you can see that the orc armor here looks a lot more organic and crude, and it’s possible that some of them have been scavenged off defeated enemies. While the orcs did have to forge their own weapons in the LOTR movies, it looks like they crafted their own armor out of what they could find lying around.
At least, that’s what it looks like to me. I’m sure that the writers have figured out their own lore when it comes to these Second-Age orcs. Who knows, what if they’re actually not that evil in this era?
Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 2.
