First Look at Ryan Gosling’s Ken in the Barbie Movie

Everyone is definitely curious for what Greta Gerwig is cooking up for the Barbie movie, and so far we’ve only seen Margot Robbie as Mattel’s ‘ideal woman’. Now we have a look at ‘Mr. Barbie’, Ken played by Ryan Gosling.

Though Gosling has been known to be a ‘serious’ actor, he does have a sense of humor about him, and I think his character is going to be a big source of comedy for the film. Just the way he’s dressed and standing in front a bright pink house makes me feel that he’s definitely what a young girl thinks her dream man looks like.

While there has been no official confirmation, rumor has it that Gosling is only one of several versions of Ken that will be appearing in the film. Word has it that Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) and Simu Liu (Shang-Chi) are also playing their own versions of Ken.

As for the part of Barbie, it’s said that Robbie will be playing Barbie alongside Issa Rae and Hari Nef.

With Barbie being a pop-culture icon for women around the world, I’m very interested in seeing what Greta Gerwig wants to do with the property. While Barbie is said to be responsible for inspiring young girls to be independent and successful, she’s also been recently criticized for promoting unhealthy body standards.

Now that we have a look at Ken and Barbie, I hope we get a trailer drop soon. Barbie comes to theaters on July 21, 2023.
