First Look at GOTG’s Djimon Hounsou in Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon

Djimon Hounsou may have been chasing down Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy, but he’s set to come back to the sci-fi genre with Zack Snyder’s upcoming movie, Rebel Moon. Just in, Snyder has shared a look at Hounsou in character as well as some other BTS shots from the film.

We don’t have any details on the characters, but Hounsou definitely looks like some kind of soldier. With him being a foot soldier in Guardians for Ronan the Accuser, I would expect that Rebel Moon might want to do something different with him. My guess is that he’s some kind of rebel leader—kind of like Josh Brolin’s Gurney in the Dune film.

With Snyder at the helm, we should expect this movie to be a VFX extravaganza. While it’s likely Snyder won’t be able to try his hand at Star Wars somewhere in the near future, Rebel Moon is probably the closest thing we’ll get. At least it’s something to keep him busy besides the fans wanting his return to the DCEU—which likely isn’t happening soon with WB.

Here’s the synopsis for Rebel Moon:

The film is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand the Tyrant.

No release date has been announced for Rebel Moon, but with the movie just starting production, we could expect a premiere on Netflix sometime next year.
