It’s been quite the wait, but Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is set to hit theaters this Friday, and WB has dropped one final trailer to get the marketing to the finish line. The preview gives us a good overview of the story, and teases some more intense chemistry between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
Watch this:
With Crimes of Grindelwald taking Newt to Paris, this next movie will now go into East Asia, with the island of Bhuta specifically named. With Newt’s team each going on their separate missions, we should also expect the show to go to more fantastic locales filled with different types of monsters and characters.
Of course, the series also has Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship at the very core, and the trailer makes sure to highlight that. While it’s been endlessly said that Dumbledore should have just been the main character rather than Newt, I’m hoping that screenwriter Steve Kloves has managed to help J.K. Rowling when it comes to clearing out this story for the screen.
Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is set to hit cinemas on April 15.
