Fergie, Josh Duhamel Before Announcing Split: Pretending and a Lot of Awkward Questions

Singer Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel have already part ways after eight long years of marriage. It wasn’t something that fans took that easily, in fact, many people are still wobbling back from the blow of their unanticipated divorce. But for the singer-songwriter, she felt like the weight of keeping it from the public had been lifted off of her shoulders.

Before we found out about the unfortunate news, the couple had already been facing a few awkward moments. After deciding to divorce, the couple was reportedly silent about the issue. Fergie told PEOPLE that all the questions shot at her regarding their sweet marriage had been a laugh at first—until it turned just plain awkward.
“Honestly, it was just getting a little weird for us with all the romantic questions… You can ask him, but it was just getting a little weird to laugh through the first date questions,” the former Black Eyed Peas member said.
Now, while the “Double Dutchess” singer is off riding into her fabulous, glitzy celebrity lifestyle as a vocal artist, Josh’s laid-back attitude seemed to have been a stark contrast and even out of place—which had been a definite factor in their split. According to the source, while their differences had been the spark that brought them together, it eventually rendered into the same reason that would hold them apart.
Despite the news, the couple was said to have separated in good terms. Fergie said in the interview that she and Josh are ‘doing great’ with the whole co-parenting over their 4-year-old son, Axl.
“With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” Josh and Fergie said in a joint statement. “We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”
