Fantastic Beasts 3 Gets Release Date on HBO Max

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore had come out last month, and since HBO Max has been shortening the time between theatrical and digital releases, we have a new trailer announcing the arrival of the movie to the streaming platform at the end of May.

The trailer doesn’t really give us anything that new from the old previews, but at least we do know that the movie is going to be hitting HBO Max this May 30. While the movie alone would be fine, I’m hoping that HBO also gives us some behind-the-scenes featurettes and some other ‘the making of’ goods.

Though The Secrets of Dumbledore was an improvement on Crimes of Grindelwald, the movie still has some problems when it comes to its plot and overall focus on characters. That being said, they did a wonderful job recasting Grindelwald with Mads Mikkelsen, and Jacob Kowalski is still an ever-lovable muggle.

We don’t know when we’re going to get the next Fantastic Beasts movie, but I think it would be great if they did some kind of soft reboot on the entire series. If anything, a lot of fans feel like if they wanted to make a Dumbledore movie, they really just should have, because a lot of times Newt starts to feel like a side character in a franchise he’s supposed to be leading.
