Ju-Hyeok pushes Wu-jin away, telling her they can’t be together. He walks away from Wu-jin, leaving her sitting on the ground. The next day, Jong-hu prepares breakfast for Ju-Hyeok because he still feels sorry for him. Jong-hu smiles at Ju-Hyeok as he prepares the meal for them. As always, Jong-hu looks happy no matter how busy they are at work. He jokes around Wu-jin like he used to, but unlike before, Wu-jin barely smiles at him. She doesn’t even tell jokes in return. She asks Jong-hu to meet her in private after work. Jong-hu looks happy because he will get to spend time with Wu-jin again, but he senses that Wu-jin is cold towards him. He talks with Ju-Hyeok to tell him. Jong-hu worries Wu-jin will break up with him, but he wants to convince himself that it’s not what he’s thinking.
After work, Jong-hu tries to buy some time so he won’t hear what Wu-jin has to say. First, he brings Wu-jin to an arcade, then she brings her to a restaurant. Wu-jin knows Jong-hu is only trying to buy time, so she finally tells him what she wants to say. “I don’t think I can keep this up,” she says. Then she tells Jong-hu he is a good person, but she likes someone else. Jong-hu tries to play it cool and tells Wu-jin it’s okay. He asks that they should at least be friends in the office. Jong-hu asks Wu-jin not to be awkward at the office. After he meets with Wu-jin, Jong-hu meets with Sang-Sik and Ju-Hyeok to tell them what happened. Jong-hu cries. Sang-Sik comforts him. Ju-Hyeok pretends he doesn’t know why Wu-jin broke up with Jong-hu.
The next day, Jong-hu tries to act normal in the office. Their coworkers tease them and even say they might get married this year. To save the two of them from the awkwardness, Jong-hu tells everyone that he and Wu-jin have decided to part ways. Because they didn’t get any explanation from the two, the employees don’t have any choice but to guess the reason for their breakup. Ju-Hyeok follows Wu-jin to the rooftop to talk to her. He tells Wu-jin that if the reason she broke up with Jong-hu is the kiss that happened the day before, it’s no big deal because everyone makes mistakes. Wu-jin says it wasn’t a mistake, and she also doesn’t want an answer from Ju-Hyeok. Unknown to them, Jong-hu is watching them as they talk — he has heard everything they said.
While Hye-won is at a gas station, he sees a woman complaining about a scratch on her car. Hye-won gets out of the car when she sees the woman is complaining to Hyeon-Su. She approaches the two and throws a check at the woman. “This should do for a replacement,” Hye-won says. Then she tells Hyeon-Su to kick the side mirror since the woman will replace it anyway. Hyeon-Su kicks as hard as he can until the side mirror falls to the car. Hye-won tells Hyeon-Su to live his life right and not get mocked by a woman who doesn’t deserve to be rich.
After work, Ju-Hyeok noticed that Jong-hu is not talking to him. When Jong-hu turns around, he punches Ju-Hyeok. Jong-hu confronts Ju-Hyeok and says he feels closer to him than his other friends. “How could you deceive me?” Jong-hu asks Ju-Hyeok. Jong-hu adds that he understands people can’t control their feelings, but Ju-Hyeok could have told him the truth. Jong-hu thinks Ju-Hyeok is making fun of him secretly and enjoys seeing Jong-hu get rejected by Wu-jin. Jong-hu wants an explanation, but Ju-Hyeok knows the truth is impossible to believe.
Ju-Hyeok packs his things and leaves Jong-hu’s house with only a suitcase. He’s not yet far from Jong-hu’s door when the zipper of his suitcase snaps, leaving his clothes scattered on the floor. While he puts them all inside the suitcase, Jong-hu comes out of his apartment and helps him. He is still angry, but he tells Ju-Hyeok that he doesn’t want to kick him out when he doesn’t have any place to stay. He carries Ju-Hyeok’s suitcase back to his apartment but doesn’t say a word to him for the rest of the night. The next day, Jong-hu and Ju-Hyeok talk to each other formally, talking only if it‘s work-related. Even Wu-jin tries her best to avoid the two by volunteering to do extra work away from the others. That same day, Hyeon-Su comes back to the university to see Hye-won. He hands her some money and says he will pay her every month to cover all she has spent on him.
Ju-Hyeok comes to the restaurant after receiving a call from Sang-Sik. To his surprise, not long after he gets there, Jong-hu arrives. It turns out that Sang-Sik has called them since they are both heartbroken, but when Jong-hu sees Ju-Hyeok, he thanks Sang-Sik for the food and leaves the restaurant. Feeling bad about Jong-hu, Ju-Hyeok leaves the restaurant without touching the food. Ju-eun agrees to tell Sang-Sik why his two friends acted the way they did as long as he promises he won’t overreact and remain calm. Sang-Sik promises he will, but as soon as he hears the truth, he runs out of the restaurant, chases Ju-Hyeok, and kicks him in the back. Ju-Hyeok falls to the ground and winces in pain. Sang-Sik yells at him and confronts him about how he betrayed Jong-hu over a girl. He says they are no longer friends after what Ju-Hyeok did. When Ju-Hyeok returns to Jong-hu’s apartment, he calls someone and asks to be transferred to a different branch.
The next day, he visits Hye-won and apologizes for making her life unhappy. He also leaves his car behind. When the bank manager asks Ju-Hyeok to pick a partner for his seminar on finance education for small businesses, he picks Wu-jin. Jong-hu looks surprised but doesn’t say anything. After their seminar, Ju-Hyeok treats Wu-jin to street foods, then takes her to Yeonhui University. He is the only one who remembers their happy memories there. Wu-jin just thinks the place seems familiar. While walking with Ju-Hyeok, Wu-jin receives a call from a friend in HQ asking if there is a problem at their branch since Ju-Hyeok asked to be transferred to a different branch. After the call, Wu-jin asks Ju-Hyeok if he’s spending time with her because he will leave soon.
That night, Wu-jin dreams again. It’s the same dream of marrying a man and having a family with him. But unlike before, the dream shows the man’s face — Ju-Hyeok. Wu-jin asks Ju-Hyeok to meet her outside even if it’s already late. She tells him about the dream she keeps having. Then she tells Ju-Hyeok that since he knows a lot about her, it only makes things more confusing. Wu-jin says she doesn’t understand what she’s feeling. Ju-Hyeok looks at Wu-jin and says, “We were married, Wu-jin.”
Our Thoughts
Are we supposed to take Ju-Hyeok’s side because he’s the star of this show? Honestly, he did many things that we didn‘t like. First, he already left Wu-jin by going back in time and picking someone else to end up with. Then he didn’t want Jong-hu to date Wu-jin even if Jong-hu was such a good man. Second, he’s already married, not to Wu-jin but to Hye-won, at least in his current life. Still, he acts like he’s not married at all. If only he had kept his distance from Wu-jin, Wu-jin might have ended up with Jong-hu because he was so good to her — Ju-Hyeok is greedy. He wants everything for himself. He’s given a second chance in life and still wants something more. Jong-hu is such a good guy, so it must have hurt to let Ju-Hyeok stay in his house even though he wanted to kick him out.
People might think it was Wu-jin’s fault for kissing Ju-Hyeok, but Wu-jin doesn’t remember anything about them. If Ju-Hyeok had stayed away from her and her family and just focused on Hye-won, the kiss wouldn’t have happened. Also, did Hye-won love Ju-Hyeok even a bit? Or did she just like him a lot? She doesn’t look sad after their divorce and just continues with her life, while Ju-Hyeok has lost his two friends and is without a house or a car.
