Tom Cruise has just been unstoppable at the box office. After the critical acclaim that Top Gun: Maverick has been receiving, we now have a new trailer for Cruise’s next action flick, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.
Check this out:
No synopsis has been released for the movie, but it does come with the tagline, “We all share the same fate.”
While the movie does feature some familiar faces like Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Rebecca Ferguson, the movie also features some new faces—a lot of them MCU vets—like Hayley Atwell (Captain America) and Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy).
Tom Cruise is only a year away from turning 60-years-old, and word has it that these final two films would be the last of the Mission: Impossible franchise. We don’t know if they’ll eventually get somebody new to be a new Ethan Hunt, but I imagine they’ll have to wait a couple more decades before they decide to return to this action franchise.
So far, the Mission: Impossible films have all had solid entries with Cruise in the lead role. Despite his age, he’s still managed to be a solid leading man; and Cruise himself has always pushed boundaries when it comes to the stunts that he’s been performing throughout the decades of the MI films.
I’m pretty much looking forward to him ending his Ethan Hunt run, and I’m sure they’ll want to send the character off in spectacular fashion.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning comes to theaters on July 14, 2023.
