Emily in Paris Season 2 Episode 6 Recap - Boiling Point

Gabriel comes to Emily’s door to tell her he’s been propositioned by half the women in Paris because of her post — part of her campaign for Chez Lavaux. He reminds Emily the restaurant can only cater to 50 people, so the guest list should not be long.

At the office, Julien tells the rest of the team about their new client: Vespa has a collaboration with Dior. They want Savoir to market the new Vespa as the next must-have accessory for women. Sylvie tells them they are given quite the budget, so they should go all out.

After the meeting, Julien approaches Emily and tells her he’s meeting with Pierre. He says Emily got lucky when she got kicked out of his account because Pierre is very demanding. Emily is browsing the photos from the Chopard party. Julien tells her to delete anything with him and Benoît; he doesn’t want to remember the humiliation.

Emily notices Sylvie has lots of shots during the Chopard event. She tells Sylvie the photographer might have a crush on her, but Sylvie tells her he’s way too young; young people annoy her. But after Emily leaves, she calls Erik, the photographer, who invites her to drink later that night. Sylvie says she’ll come.

Meanwhile, Julien helps Pierre prepare for a photoshoot with Ellen Von Unwerth, a prominent photographer. Julien gushes upon being introduced to her. Ellen’s agent, Gerhard, steps in. He mistakes Julien for being Pierre’s assistant and tells him fawning makes everyone uncomfortable. Julien tells him he works for Savoir, and he is just there to take a look, and everything looks good, including Gerhard.

Ellen takes photos of Pierre and the model. Julien tells Gerhard they are looking for someone to do the Vespa shoot. He asks him if Ellen would be interested, but he tells him Ellen is very busy, but he should send him the information, just in case.

In French class, Emily confidently presents Alfie’s profile. But when Alfie presents his profile of Emily, he tells the class Emily likes to work, and she doesn’t want to have fun. Emily confronts him after class and tells him she does know how to have fun.

Sylvie and Erik meet up for drinks at a bar. Sylvie shares she used to be a photographer taking candid shots of people in Saint-Tropez. He tells her he’d love to see her work.

The next morning, Sylvie brings food to the office. Emily gets puzzled, but Luc enlightens her by saying Sylvie only breaks the no-food policy when she had sex the night before. Emily tells Luc it might be with Erik. Sylvie suddenly comes out of her office to tell Emily that Antoine has added some guests for the restaurant opening.

Emily comes to Sylvie’s office and tells her the people on the guest list she sent are way too many for the restaurant’s capacity. Sylvie tells her not everyone will be coming to eat; some may not come at all. She also tells Emily she won’t be there for the launch because she has other plans.

At Chez Lavaux, Gabriel is busy preparing for the launch when Camille comes with a box of champagne. She says it‘s from her family because they cannot make it; it‘s also her peace offering. She tells him she cares about him, even when they are not together.

That night, Emily takes some photos and posts them on IG. She tells Antoine guests have arrived, and influencers are dining. She mentions Madame Mange is also there, a food blogger who has been blogging since food blogging started. She tells him she doesn’t know who she’s with, but they look serious. Antoine tells her he’ll introduce himself.

Emily receives a call from Alfie, saying he’s sorry for what he said the last time they were together. He invites Emily to the pub so he can buy her a beer. She tells him she’s at a work event that’s running late, so she cannot come. Alfie tells her she’s really no fun.

Antoine tells Emily he has spoken to Madame Mange. The guest she is dining with is actually Caroline Duclos, a reviewer from Le Figaro. Emily gasps and tells him the reviewers from Le Figaro are supposed to be anonymous. Antoine tells her he got her to reveal her identity through his charms. Mindy comes. Emily introduces her to Antoine.

Emily comes to the kitchen to tell Gabriel the reviewer from Le Figaro is there, so he better serve her good food. Camille comes and congratulates Gabriel. Camille also tells Emily she’s doing a great job with the opening. Gabriel tells Emily he thinks there are more than 50 reservations — way more than they agreed for. Emily tells him Antoine added a few people to the guest list and having many people is good for business. He tells her it won’t be good for long if people can’t find a place to sit. Camille steps in and suggests she will serve champagne to people waiting to be seated.

Emily finally joins Mindy at her table. Mindy tells her Benoît is not gay, and he’s into her. But she tells Emily she will not do anything that will ruin the band dynamics. Antoine comes by, and Mindy talks to him in a loud voice — the music is too loud. She comes to the kitchen to tell Gabriel the reviewer is almost finished, so he should say hi.

Gabriel approaches Caroline as she leaves and tells him he is a talented chef, but no dish is worth the chaos. Gabriel apologizes to her. He turns to Emily and says they have a nightclub, not a restaurant, just like Antoine wanted. He walks out after saying he’s done.

Antoine sees this and tells Emily she can tell him to keep walking because chefs are a dime a dozen in Paris. Camille overhears this and tells Emily she’s been there before, so she knows what Gabriel feels is just a mixture of fear and ego. She tells Emily to talk to Antoine while she talks to Gabriel.

Camille goes after Gabriel outside. Gabriel tells her Antoine is arrogant and he does not know what he’s doing; he has never run a restaurant before. She tells him he’s right, but he needs Antoine, and he should know better than to ruin the opportunity he has been given.

Emily reminds Antoine he bought the place because of Gabriel. Antoine tells her Gabriel might be too young, and he might not be able to handle what he wants: a sexy crowd, which is the Lavaux brand. Emily suggests they can have the best of both worlds if they keep the place a restaurant until 11 P.M. and then turn it into a club after dinner service. He tells her he likes the idea, and if Gabriel comes back, they will have something to talk about.

Gabriel comes back and talks to Antoine. They agree on the idea. Gabriel goes back to the kitchen after thanking both Camille and Emily.

Sylvie and Erik get cozy in his apartment. Sylvie tells him about the shoot they are having for Vespa and gives him the job as they get in bed.

The next morning, Sylvie commends Emily for a successful launch after pictures of the event get published in a magazine. Emily asks Sylvie how her night went, but instead of answering directly, Sylvie tosses a bag of pastries to the table.

Julien gets a call from Gerhard, who tells him he has convinced Ellen to do the Vespa shoot. Gerhard also tells him he already called Vespa for the budget; it’s suitable. Julien confirms if the client is onboard, and Gerhard tells him so. He also invites Julien to Hamburg. Julien dances with joy.

Julien excitedly tells Luc and Emily about booking Ellen; they both gush over it. Sylvie butts in and tells them she already booked Erik as the photographer for the Vespa shoot. Julien asks Emily and Luc why Sylvie favors Erik over Ellen. They tell him she’s sleeping with him.

Emily goes to Sylvie’s office to tell her she hopes her judgment isn’t clouded by the interest Erik has been giving her. She tells Emily she doesn’t like what she’s implying. Julien comes and tells Sylvie that Vespa is on the phone. She puts the phone in speaker mode as she tells Vespa they have found a photographer already. The representative tells her they also think Ellen is perfect for the shoot. Sylvie gets upset and asks Julien how Vespa knows about Ellen. She angrily asks everyone to go out of the room.

Mindy and Benoît perform yet another song: a duet.

Sylvie meets Erik and tells him she can no longer give him the Vespa job. She says she thinks he is very talented, and she’s sorry they won’t be working together. Erik tells her he hopes it doesn’t mean they won’t be seeing each other again.

The Vespa scooter for the shoot has arrived. Julien and Emily take turns in taking a picture with it. Emily takes the scooter and rides it to French class. She sees Alfie walking and takes him for a ride.

Our Thoughts

What’s up with Camille? We think she’s cooking up some evil plan because she seems so okay about what happened when we all know she feels betrayed. Well, we’re just enjoying whatever is happening while it lasts. Sylvie proved to be very unprofessional when she favored Erik over Ellen just because they are sleeping together. It’s also so sad she thinks she needs to give Erik favors for him to continue sleeping with her. Meanwhile, Benoît and Mindy seem to be hitting it off, while Julien might finally be getting it right this time with Gerhard. Let’s see how it goes for these two pairs.
