In The CW’s “Dynasty,” Season 1, Episode 20, titled “A Line From the Past,” it seems that the Carringtons have been covering up their dirt for so long now. Alexis Carrington (Nicolette Sheridan) picks up each dirt and throws them back to her own family.
The Carringtons Fall Apart
Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) discovers that it’s Carrington-Atlantic’s fault that Michael Culhane’s (Robert Christopher Riley) dad suffers in the hospital. With desperation, she comes to her stepmother Cristal Flores (Nathalie Kelley) to confront their company’s fault. Cristal explains that she wanted to come forward to tell the story, but Blake Carrington (Grant Show) forbids her to.
Women should support other women. So when Cristal had the chance, she asked Fallon to be her ally in this situation. They planned to get the voice recorder that Blake hides from Cristal. It contains Cristal’s statement where she mentions she covered up the company’s faults in the past. Now that they have the recorder, Cristal could come forward with the company’s problem.
But since Blake is a businessman, he knew how to make people stay on his palm. He leaked to the media that there are issues in the Carrington-Atlantic plant in Clark County. Blake then called for a little press conference. The women, now caught off-guard, scrambled to find ways to deflect Blake’s tricks. However, Blake is always one step ahead of them. During the press conference, he fired Cristal as the company’s COO. Blake follows it up and says that Cristal needs to focus on the family. After which, he assigns Fallon as the company’s new COO.
This swipe move from Blake ensures that nothing comes out from inside Carrington-Atlantic. It also immobilizes Fallon who now works for Blake again. Not only that. Blake also gets to control Jeff Colby (Sam Adegoke) and Merrel Corporation.
The Search For The First Born
Meanwhile, Steven Carrington (James Mackay) leaves Sammy Jo (Rafael de la Fuente) and “heads” to Washington. But Joseph Anders (Alan Dale) finds out that he’s not in DC. Although this was the case, Steven was instead looking for his lost brother, Adam. In the past episodes, Alexis mentioned that there was a first-born Carrington before him. But they lost it and was not able to retrieve it anymore. Alexis asked Steven to look for Adam, and he is game for it.
Steven traced the places where Adam could’ve lived. It wasn’t in DC, of course. But through countless searches, he discovers Adam’s house.
Although he found the right place, Adam appears to be not in the area. Instead, he only saw Adam’s ex-wife. They were not on good terms. But Steven was persistent and eager to find Adam. As a bribe, he bought Adam’s ex-wife milk formula for their baby and gave her cash. To his surprise, Adam knocks to his place saying that he is his lost brother.
Dynasty Season 1, Episode 20: ‘Like Father, Like Daughter’
With the offset of Cristal’s plan to come forward for the Carrington-Atlantic, Fallon gains what she wanted ever since she was a little girl. Now the COO of the company, Fallon assures Cristal that she will work from underneath. Cristal is not buying it. She believes that Fallon had planned this all out for her to have the position.
Cristal visits Michael whose father is now dead. Together, they plan to extract whatever secret they can from the Carrington-Atlantic. With Cristal’s last hours as the COO of the company, she can still hire someone in an instant. That is Michael, their old chauffeur.
Meanwhile, Alexis still nurses the light-headed Jeff. After days of sustenance, Alexis reveals her real agenda to Jeff. She goes and tells him that he is a Carrington. Everything that happened to Jeff’s life is because he is a Carrington.
However, a new character might be part of the show. Joseph Anders contacts his daughter, Kirby, who might be a part of something big in the story. She lives in Australia, with Joseph’s wife.
“Dynasty” continues next Friday, April 13th, with “Trashy Little Tramp” at 8:00 PM ET on The CW.
