Alexis Carrington (Nicolette Sheridan) might have been gone for 11 years, but things do not change around the estate. In “Dynasty” season 1, episode 18, titled “Don’t Con a Con Artist,” her claim to throne continues. It’s out with subtle changes in the house. From now on, it’s war against the Carringtons.
With Steven Carrington (James Mackay) and Sammy Jones’ (Rafael de la Fuente) wedding draws closer, Alexis becomes a mom for a while and takes them both on a shopping spree. Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) being the lesser-wanted child, continues to dig up dirt from her mom in the stables.
Culhane out, Alexis in
Fallon walks around the stables like she used to, back when she dated their driver Michael Culhane (Robert Christopher Riley). But this time, she is bringing a different man to the stables. It’s her new fake husband, Liam Ridley (Adam Huber). Since Fallon married Liam for the counterfeit papers against Jeff Colby (Sam Adegoke), she has little-to-no information about him. Until today, he’s only a guy she saw from the streets on that fateful night.
Liam opens up about being someone who builds up houses. With his knowledge in mind, he suggests to Fallon to check on frames, gaps, and floors for possible hiding spots. When Fallon roamed the stables, Liam hears a different floor creak. Upon inspection, he sees Alexis’ valuables hidden under the floor. But that’s not it. Along with the pieces of jewelry are Sammy’s files.
Alexis is like a regular mom. She ensures that her children get the best they can get. Through Sammy’s files, Alexis tracks down that his son’s fiance was an ex-criminal. In the shop where she and Sammy went to go shopping, Alexis shoplifts a wristwatch and puts it in Sammy’s bag. Upon checkout, one of the store’s silent alarms went off. But Sammy was lucky that day. Fallon came to “rescue” him from his mother and puts the wristwatch in Alexis’ bag. So instead of Sammy getting arrested, it’s Alexis who falls under the hands of the law.
Meanwhile, Cristal Flores (Nathalie Kelly) visits Culhane in the hospital where his father stays. James Culhane (Daryll Booker) went to the hospital for a checkup. But the doctors found out a more significant problem. Because of that, Culhane dropped his job at the Carrington’s. When Cristal found out, she visited the hospital. She met Culhane’s mom, Luella Culhane (Arnetia Walker), and sister Evie Culhane (Elizabeth Youman). Cristal was thoughtful. However, she can’t shut her mouth. She exposed that Culhane isn’t Vice President in Carrington-Atlantic. Instead, he’s a chauffeur for the Carringtons. This puts Culhane’s relationship with his mom adrift.
Fallon: Don’t Con A Con Artist
Fallon is smarter than how she looks like. She’s not letting her mother Alexis get away with no fight. Before she posts bail, Fallon makes up with her mother. In one condition, Alexis will be free from prison. But the term is for her to leave the Carringtons and Atlanta. Of course, Alexis is tough. She stood firm and told Fallon she’s staying. Steven arrives in the waiting room and tells Alexis that he posted the bail. Once again, Alexis is free from Fallon’s entanglement.
Cristal wanted to make it up for exposing Culhane. So with Carrington-Atlantic’s connections, she offered Luella the best medical help that the company has access to. Enter Dr. Libby Kim (Amor Owens), who flew in from a conference in New York. Dr. Kim says that James has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Although the disease is common in younger people, Dr, Kim thinks James’ case might be different.
Steven confronts his sister Fallon. After Alexis got out of the prison, they all walk out as nothing happened. But to Steven, it is different. Alexis got around and pinned everything to Fallon. She even pinned the research files about Sammy to Fallon. This family is so extra that they are willing to fight each other. Say the word, and their claws are out.
To The Night We Won’t Forget
To celebrate Steven and Sammy’s engagement, the Carringtons throw a party for the couple, even when Blake Carrington (Grant Show) fired Joseph Anders (Alan Dale). With his absence, the party seems to be normal. But it’s only until Fallon puts her plans to a full swing.
Earlier that day, Fallon and Liam discussed the failure of Alexis’ set up at the store. Alexis is winning Steven from Fallon. But of course, Fallon wouldn’t allow that to happen. Through brainstorming with Liam, Fallon thinks of drugging Alexis for the truth. Sammy overhears and agrees to the plan.
Before the helpers served dinner, Fallon’s plan started. But before she even hands out the glass of champagne to her mother, she sees Culhane at the main door talking to Cristal. She goes berserk and confronts Culhane for leaving without notice. She leaves the glasses of champagne on the table. When her talk with Culhane was over, she comes back and gives the drinks to her mother. However, she gave the wrong glass. Instead of Alexis, Sammy got the drugged champagne.
In a few moments, Sammy exemplifies the symptoms of someone drugged. He starts telling people about his life story. To an extent, he jumps on the dining table and sings a song. His Aunt Cristal was clueless of what’s happening. When Sammy was at his peak, he falls down the table. Knocked unconscious, Fallon alerts everyone that someone drugged him. She, later on, blames Alexis. To Alexis’ response, she states that lacing up a drink is different from sliding a wristwatch in a bag. Fallon caught the fish in Alexis’ mouth making Steven hate him.
Steven confronts Fallon for her deeds. Liam goes in and takes the blame. But Steven is mad both at Fallon and Alexis. He tells Fallon that she’s like Alexis. When Fallon and Liam left, they walked up together the house where Liam kissed Fallon. Liam says that he’s been meaning to do that since the day they met. Fallon laughed about it and walked away.
Carrington’s First-Born, More Discoveries
The next day, Steven came to the stables to ask Alexis to leave. But instead of going, Alexis tells Steven of the older Carrington child before them. His name was Adam. Kidnapped long ago, Adam never found his way back to Alexis and Blake. After Alexis and Blake’s marriage, she continued looking for Adam in South America. Steven is now eager to find his brother, Adam.
Meanwhile, Blake calls on Anders to resume work in the estate. Anders goes back to work immediately and updates Blake about Culhane’s father, James. Years ago, Carrington-Atlantic covered up a mishap in Clarke County. Clark County is where Culhane’s family lived ever since he was young. The mishap that Carrington-Atlantic covered was an environmental issue. The incident might have caused James’ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia covered by the Carrington-Atlantic. Before Cristal gets to tell Culhane of the news, Blake was there; earlier than the worm.
“Dynasty” continues next Friday, April 13th, with “Use or Be Used” at 8:00 PM ET on The CW.
