Way before the pandemic, word was going around that a sequel to 2007’s Enchanted starring Amy Adams was in the works. We haven’t gotten any updates over the past few years, but word has it that the movie is now set to undergo reshoots.
According to The Disinsider, Disenchanted is set to undergo reshoots next month in NYC. Though reshoots are a common thing when it comes to films, the site specifically states that the reason for these reshoots is because early test screenings didn’t go so well for the movie.
We haven’t gotten any stills for the movie so far, but we do have a synopsis:
… The plot of the film which will see Giselle, Robert, and Morgan moving to a new house in the suburbs, overseen by Malvina Monroe, the main villain of the film. After problems begin to arise, Giselle makes a wish to transform their lives into a perfect fairytale. However, the spell backfires dramatically and puts Giselle in a rush against the clock to save both her family and her Kingdom of Andalasia before the clock strikes midnight.
The movie is set to bring back Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey to the lead role with other returning Enchanted cast members including Idina Menzel and James Marsden. New cast members include Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicolle Brown, Jayma Mays, and Oscar Nunez. Hairspray’s Adam Shankman is also attached to direct.
No release date has been set for Disenchanted, but we should expect a premiere on Disney+.
