This week we’re pleased to welcome Marcus Sally, host of the podcast Popcorn Prattle, for an in-depth discussion of Netflix’s Black Mirror!
2:20 What are we watching? The Walking Dead, Olympics, The Joel McHale Show, Altered Carbon, The Goldbergs.
11:22 Last movie seen? Black Panther, Wonder Woman, Get Out.
15:56 What’s coming up? Jessica Jones, A Wrinkle in Time.
Stinger Topic of the Week: Black Mirror
17:56 Black Mirror is set in an alternative present or near future and examines modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies. Similar to The Twilight Zone, each episode is stand-alone.
Originally a British science fiction anthology series by Charlie Brooker, it ran for two, 3-episode seasons, and was then picked up by Netflix for 12 more episodes. Those episodes were split between seasons 3 and 4.
We are joined by Marcus Sally, a Black Mirror superfan who is the host of Popcorn Prattle, a film talk podcast that discusses movies in an unpretentious way.
