Gru Comes Face To Face With Villain Twin Brother In New Despicable Me 3 Trailer

Everyone fell in love with Gru, the once villain but turned dad of the year main character in “Despicable Me.” Now, it looks like his story just keeps on going with the trailer for the third movie already out. With it revealing more about his family tree. The Felonius Gru, formerly a super villain, has left his old life to take care of three girls. These are Agnes (Nev Scharrel), Margo (Mirando Cosgrove), and Edith (Dana Gaier). Aside from turning a new leaf from bad to good, Gru happily marries Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig). But what happens when his former life revisits his present?
When Gru Meets Dru: Being A Villain A Family Tradition
“Despicable Me 3” trailer is all about the two characters, Gru and Dru (Steve Carell). Although they’re twins, it’s not hard to tell them apart since Dru is has flowy blonde hair that Gru can only achieve through wigs. Oh, and that Dru is extremely rich and is living the lush life while Gru is without a job.
Aside from the physical and lifestyle differences seen, the “Despicable Me 3” trailer also shows that Gru isn’t only face to face with his brother, but with his past too. His family tree branches out to reveal that most of them were super villains, and that he can’t escape that fate because it’s in his blood. Of course, Gru declines but agrees to go on one heist. This being done wearing a stretchy villain suit, which matches with his twin.
Despicable Me 3: The Minions Want The Bad Back
Nearing the end of the trailer, the iconic yellow minions are shown voicing out what they think Gru should actually do. And they want him to go back to being a supervillain. The lovable yellow Gru followers want the old him back, frowning on his present life.
With both his own brother and minions telling Gru to get back to the life of villainy, the “Despicable Me 3” trailer shows a personal conflict without dropping out on the comedy it had in the first two movies. There’s also the introduction of a new odd character, Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker) in the next “Despicable Me”.
“Despicable Me 3”, with Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda as the directors, is set to hit theaters in summer 2017, specifically June 30. Watch the official trailer below.
