Ablaze
Tengen finally finds Hinatsuru tied up in one of the houses. He rushes in to free her and nurse her back to health. After discovering that Warabihime is a demon, she tried to escape, but the Oiran left her a sash that got her tangled up.
Tengen instructs her to leave once the antidote is in effect. The Hashira then follows the sound of the fighting, which he traces underground. Tengen creates an explosive sound with Sound Breathing: First Form and digs down.
Daki hears it and gets annoyed. She asks Tanjiro how many hunters he came with. Tanjiro won’t budge, so she tells him his sword is already broken, chipped from their short battle.
Unnerved by the continuing explosions, Daki gets pressured to kill Tanjiro swiftly. Tanjiro blames his sword’s damage on his Water Breathing skill. He fears he isn’t suited to the style like his mentors.
He recreated the Hinokami Kagura techniques during his recent training sessions, but the moves took a huge toll on his body and left him groaning on the ground after consecutive use.
But he still has to use those techniques at the moment to set his heart ablaze.
New Hope
Tanjiro blocks Daki’s next attack with Raging Sun. The demon sees his change in style and reacts accordingly with a counterattack. Tanjiro evades and vanishes from sight. He sees an opening from above and uses Hinokami Kagura: Flame Wheel.
Daki sees through it and throws him off. Tanjiro’s heartbeat intensifies; his muscles stiffen as he falls. Daki strikes again, causing Tanjiro to muster up a breath and fight back. They exchange slashes, with Tanjiro’s body getting hotter. During training, one of the girls at the mansion worries about him constantly having a fever, but it‘s actually a consequence of him practicing Sun Breathing.
Tanjiro gets a surge of determination as he realizes his techniques are working. Still, he’ll have to go further to defeat Daki and defend the innocent. He moves in for a slash.
At the Ogimoto House, Inosuke continues his hunt for the demon, hacking the floorboards and the walls for his enemy. Finally, he finds a narrow tunnel passage and slips inside to follow its path.
He finally finds an underground cave with Daki’s cloth sprawled all over. Inosuke recognizes it as a demon’s feeding ground.
One of the sashes awakens to fight Inosuke for trespassing. As Inosuke cuts through the cloth, he frees Daki’s trapped victims.
Flamboyance
Daki commands the sash demon to kill Inosuke and leave their ten most beautiful victims alive. The demon tries to distract Inosuke by threatening the other victims, but Suma and Makio escape their bonds and help Inosuke fight the enemy.
Still, the demon proves resilient as it isn’t part of the main body. Suddenly, Zenitsu appears and performs Thunder Breathing: Thunderclap and Flash for six strikes, which cuts off much of the enemy.
The sash demon panics, having heard two threatening sounds: one from Zenitsu and one from above. The tunnel is slowly caving in; someone is digging through to find them.
Tengen appears with his two swords. In a single slash, he frees everyone from capture. He apologizes to Makio and Suma for being late. Makio is surprised, as kunoichi ninjas like them are considered expendable in their line of work.
She remembers Tengen instructing them that their lives are more important than their mission. Tengen praises their work and declares that things will be more flamboyant.
Our Thoughts
Seeing the gang get together for the rescue was epic, but I couldn’t help but yell at them since Tanjiro is all alone! 3.8/5.
