DC FanDome 2022 Officially Cancelled

Back in 2020 when in-person events weren’t allowed, DC was able to kickstart their own virtual event called FanDome which was received even better than the virtual SDCC. Though it seemed like FanDome was going to be a regular thing, it looks like we won’t be getting a reveal this year.
According to Popverse, WB has decided to cancel the online convention. DC’s statement reads:
“With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022.”
Though this should come as a bummer for fans that love the DC-only reveal events, the statement does promise that we’ll be getting some reveals at some other, in-person events—which will happen throughout the year.
At some point, you’d think that DC doesn’t have enough things to hype up for FanDome ever since the Discovery acquisition. Word has it that the only DC film they can afford to release this year is Black Adam, and I’m sure a lot of fans will be asking about cancelled projects like Batgirl and that Supergirl spinoff with Sasha Calle. Let’s also not forget that though the Flash movie is pushing forward, Ezra Miller was just recently in headlines causing trouble in Hawaii.
There may not be a FanDome, but we can bet that DC has some big reveals planned for the rest of the year. It’s just a matter of time.
In the meantime, the next DC project, Black Adam, is set to hit theaters on Oct. 21.
