With Professor X confirmed to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a lot of fans are excited to see what the MCU’s iteration of the X-Men could look like. One fancast for the new Wolverine is Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, and he has come out to address the rumors that he’s in talks for the part.

“So many people come up to me like, ‘Hey man, I heard the Wolverine news, that’s really cool.’ And I’m like, ‘Mate, it’s not, I don’t know anything about it.’… Like, I appreciate that somebody has clearly gone, ‘Wolverine is actually short in the comic books, we should get a short guy to do it.’ But I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me afterward, but who knows. Prove me wrong, Marvel.”
Though Hugh Jackman has made the part of Wolverine generally hunky, the comic version of the character is known to be short and feral. Personally, I don’t think Radcliffe has the toughened-up face or voice to play a role like Wolverine, but I think it would be great if they got someone like Richard Armitage (Thorin from The Hobbit) to play the part. How about Scott Eastwood or Alden Ehrenreich?
We don’t know when the mutants will be appearing in the MCU, but it’s possible we could be getting the seeds for the concept with the introduction of Professor X. Of course, I would love for an entirely new roster to appear in the MCU, but I think it’s a nice touch to have Patrick Stewart re-introduce us to the concept of mutants.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes out May 6.
