Daniel Craig Undergoes Surgery for Injury Sustained While Filming ‘Bond 25’

English actor Daniel Craig will undergo minor ankle surgery due to injuries he sustained while filming Bond 25. But as Craig recovers, the film’s will remain in full swing. Bond 25 follows Agent 007 after he leaves the service and is enjoying his relaxing life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when Felix Leiter, an old friend from the CIA asks him for help. The mission is to rescue a kidnapped scientist, but it turns out to be far more dangerous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
What’s Next for Bond 25?
During the filming of James Bond 25 in Jamaica, Craig sustained an injury on his ankle, forcing the Bond actor to undergo minor ankle surgery. According to The Official James Bond Twitter Account, the movie’s production “will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery.” The film also remains on track for the same April 2020 release date. In 2017, Craig announced on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ that the upcoming film would indeed be his last time as James Bond.

The 25th James Bond film doesn’t have a title yet, but it definitely has a new cast. Bond 25, under the direction of Cary Joji Fukunaga and series producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, announced that Dali Bensallah, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, and David Dencik will be joining the cast.
James Bond Through the Years
Craig achieved international fame when he was chosen as the sixth actor to play British secret agent James Bond, following Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan. The actor debuted in his first film as James Bond in 2006’s Casino Royale. Craig went on to play the character in several Bond movies, like Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and his fifth and final film, initially known as Bond 25.
The as-yet-untitled James Bond 25 film will hit theaters on April 8, 2020.
