Could Jensen Ackles be Hinting at The Boys Return?

No doubt one of the highlights of the last season of The Boys was Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy who proved to be his own kind of despicable besides Homelander. While his story may have ended with him being put under, it’s possible SB could be making a comeback with Season 4.

As pointed out by @getFANDOM on Twitter, Ackles hints that he’s ‘on his way’ in a post from Karl Urban hinting at the start of Season 4. Check this out:

The last season ended with a pretty ominous tone, what with Homelander’s son Ryan being hinted at embracing the maniacal nature of his father; and Homelander himself discovering that there is a crowd that will support him no matter what he does.

We also have the revelation that Butcher is dying from the use of the Temporary V. We don’t know how the show is going to handle it, but either they find some kind of solution or they write off one of the lead characters. The way the show plays out, Butcher dying definitely feels like it’s on the table, but I’m sure there are fans who will want to see him reconcile with Ryan.

Going back to Soldier Boy, there are multiple ways that they can try to get him back. Vought might still want some kind of Homelander deterrent, so they might want to brainwash SB again. Or maybe he could be part of a flashback that would have something to do with Homelander’s creation. With Homelander now having a son, it’s likely that the literal granddaddy of superheroes will play a part.

No release date has been set for The Boys 4, but the show is expected to debut sometime in 2023 on Amazon Prime Video.
