Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn may not have been able to clash with Christian Bale’s Batman, but the two are coming together (along with some other big-name actors) for a movie called Amsterdam.
Watch the trailer:
The official description reads:
Set in the ’30s, it follows three friends who witness a murder, become suspects themselves, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history.
The film is directed by David O. Russell, who was the same guy who gave us films like Silver Linings Playbook as well as American Hustle. With five Oscar nominations to his name, it’s no wonder that A-listers like Robert De Niro, Robbie, Bale, and even Anya Taylor-Joy would be eager to work on this quirky-looking period film.
I also have to say, it’s fun to see Mike Myers doing work again. Though he was probably the busiest when he made those Austin Powers films, he did have a kind of career hiatus as of late. Now with a Netflix show (The Pentaverate) and this upcoming film, I’m hoping we’ll see more of Myers in our screens again.
The movie does look like a good bit of fun, but with Russell at the helm, we should probably expect the film to get pretty serious at times as well. With the biggest stars attached to the film, I have no doubt that this movie is also looking to be another Oscar contender.
Amsterdam is set to hit theaters Nov. 4.
