Check Out Batch of New Stills from Obi-Wan Kenobi

May is almost here, which means that we’re getting closer to the release of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+. Thanks to Total Film (via GamesRadar), we have a new batch of stills from the movie, and they give us a great look at Ben Kenobi and Rupert Friend’s Grand Inquisitor.

While we’ve seen Obi-Wan in a variation of Jedi robes over the course of the Prequel Trilogy, we actually have him wearing some non-Jedi garb this time, likely to blend in with the people of Tatooine. We also see him in a more urban setting, and it’s likely Kenobi finds himself here in order to lure the Inquisitors away from young Luke Skywalker.

There has also been a lot of buzz when it comes to the appearance of the Grand Inquisitor. While the show has kept a lot of elements from the Rebels series, there are admittedly a lot of design elements that make the Inquisitor less threatening from the darker eyes to the bulbous head. Frankly, I’m not that much of a stickler when it comes to sticking to the source material, so I’m going to wait and give it a chance before going online and complaining about the look.

With the underwhelming Book of Boba Fett, I’m hoping that Kenobi manages to be a show that will focus on the growth of Obi-Wan as a character. Sure, I would love some fanservice moments, but if we don’t get any meaningful arc for Obi-Wan (or even Vader), then I’m sad to think this would be Ewan McGregor’s return to Star Wars.

Hopefully that won’t be the case.
