With Magic Mike XXL coming out in 2015, fans thought they’d seen the last of the franchise then, but apparently director Steven Soderbergh is ready to come back to the world of male strippers with Channing Tatum at the mast.
Just in, we have our first trailer for Magic Mike’s Last Dance, and it features a returning Tatum with franchise newcomer Salma Hayek. Watch this:
Here’s the official description:
“Magic” Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) takes to the stage again after a lengthy hiatus, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. For what he hopes will be one last hurrah, Mike heads to London with a wealthy socialite (Salma Hayek) who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse…and an agenda all her own.
Though the first two movies had banked on all the other male strippers that work with Mike, it looks like Mike is going to be a fish out of water with this third movie, producing his own male stripping show. Even if that was the case, I think there’s room in the film for even just one scene with the cast members of the original.
I’ll admit, the new trailer isn’t as sexed up as previews for the past films, but this is the green band version. I think once we get a red band trailer out there, we’re going to see a lot more of the crazy strip shows that the franchise is known for.
Magic Mike’s Last Dance will come to theaters on Feb. 10, 2023.
