Celine Dion Teams Up with Wade Wilson for Hilarious ‘Deadpool 2’ Soundtrack Music Video

Wade Wilson’s heart will definitely go on and on as he teams up with Canadian songstress Celine Dion for “Ashes,” the power-ballad soundtrack for “Deadpool 2.” Now, we know what you’re thinking, “Deadpool and Celine Dion??? WTF???” Relax. This one works really great into the fabric and narrative of the movie—at least, that’s what the music video seems to hint at.

Like any other Celine Dion ballad, the song starts out emotionally, and you can almost feel the power that Dion always has in every performance. But this one doesn’t just solidify another “My Heart Will Go On”-esque track, it might even go up to the ranks of an iconic movie soundtrack too!

“Let beauty come out of ashes,” Dion sings in the chorus, in which a surprising interpretative dance number from Deadpool himself appears out of nowhere—complete with stilettos. The comedic effect of the dance and the emotional song works, however. It’s odd, but it works really well.

And then, as “Ashes” wraps up in an amazing crescendo, Deadpool showers Dion with praises. However, since Dion always delivers a powerful performance, Deadpool asks for the energy to be turned down to match the movie’s less-grandiose narrative (as compared to that of Titanic). A fun banter is exchanged between the two, with Dion eventually shooing him away, calling him “Spider-Man.”

Move over, “Titanic.” You have just been dethroned for having one of the most iconic cinematic Celine Dion songs on the planet.
