'Celebrity Big Brother' Season 1, Hour 16/17 Finale: True Best Friends Ride Or Die [SPOILERS]

Nothing is ever sweeter than basking in the success of your best friend. After a nerve-wracking wait for the jury’s vote, Marissa stepped out of the house as the new winner of “Celebrity Big Brother.” Alongside her, Ross got crowned as America’s favorite houseguest. Ross and Marissa’s friendship has come a long way, though. Together, they stood to be judged and together they walked out victorious.

The True Power Pair of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’

If there’s any pair that the houseguests should’ve been targeting from the beginning, it’s Ross and Marissa. However, their innocent friendship didn’t seem much of a threat. And why would they be? Both Marissa and Ross have been true to their alliances. Both of them were most of the time honest with everybody. In the end, it’s what got them to the final two.
Who knew that it wasn’t deadly cunning or superior tactics that would make someone win this game but just plain honesty? Marissa Jaret Winokur was a picture of innocence in the house. All this time, it looked like she was merely a support system to her alliances. However, Marissa played just as hard as anybody else without compromising her character. She was accused of backstabbing, got yelled at, and was put on the block. All through that, she didn’t lose the Marissa spark.
Ross, on the other hand, turned out to be one of the best players of “Celebrity Big Brother.” Like Marissa, he didn’t compromise his character in the game, but he knew where the boundaries stood. As a pro, he knew when to make his move. When it came to the jury, they voted for who Brandi called “the shadiest person in the house” and who Shannon said was “the most honest.” And as the audience has seen, “Celebrity Big Brother” is too full of revelations and surprises that guessing what’s right is almost an impossible feat.

Marissa and Ross both took home crowns. But everyone evidently also took home lasting experiences from their experience in the house. After all, “Celebrity Big Brother” is a game, but it’s not just any game. As Ross said, “I think Big Brother is about having relationships with people, pivoting…and winning when your butt is on the line.”
