ABC’s Castle showrunner Andrew Marlowe, who was responsible for helming the series’ last six seasons, has exited the series it was revealed today.
Marlowe will be replaced by existing Executive Producer David Amann for the upcoming seventh season.
Despite Amann’s new role, it is believed that Marlowe will maintain a “day-today presence” on the show, while developing new projects for ABC Studios.
“Over the past four seasons, David has proven himself to be a tremendous leader and a great steward of our show’s unique voice,” Marlowe said. “I’m excited to continue our creative collaboration as he assumes his new responsibilities.”
Castle returns from a major cliffhanger this Fall, in which Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett’s (Stana Katic) wedding plans went horribly awry when Rick was driven off the road by an unknown assailant.
With Castle’s car in flames and his whereabouts unknown, the first episode of the season will see the show hitting the ground running, under Amann’s hand.
