Cast and Creators of How I Met Your Mother Pay Tribute to the Late Bob Saget

Bob Saget may be best known for his work on Full House, but he has an uncredited role as the older Ted Mosby who narrates the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother. With news of Saget’s passing, the cast and creators of HIMYM have paid tribute to him and we even got a very long heartfelt message from the younger Ted, Josh Radnor.

Here are messages from stars Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and Neil Patrick Harris:

Show creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays had also took the time to pay tribute to Saget, seeing as he’d been on the show from the beginning to the end.

Probably the most touching tribute to Saget from the How I Met Your Mother crew comes from Radnor, who talks about his experience working with Saget. He says that he and Saget found time every year to actually get together, and that Saget said that he watched Radnor’s performance carefully in order to capture his voice as the narrator. If anything, some HIMYM probably had no idea that it was a completely different person providing narration for older Ted.

Here’s the full thread from Radnor:

At the age of 65, it came as kind of shock that Saget would suddenly pass away. What’s more, a lot are concerned over the way Saget was found alone on his bed in a hotel room when he died. If anything, reports are saying that there were no signs of foul play or drug use.

Besides Full House and How I Met Your Mother, Saget had a very prolific career as a stand-up comedian, and he leaves behind a legacy of solid work for future generations to enjoy.
