Carrie Underwood Announces She Might 'Look A Bit Different' After Accident

For Carrie Underwood’s 2018, she will be facing a new kind of challenge—while asking fans for some understanding. It has been an eventful seven weeks for the country star, and the days ahead are going to be even more life-changing.
On November 2017, Carrie Underwood’s representative announced that while walking outside of her house in Nashville, the 34-year-old vocalist took a ‘hard fall on some of the steps.’ It was a pretty ‘random’ accident—the artist said so herself. But unfortunately, it wasn’t those random falls that simply made you look like an idiot on the road. Instead, it required some surgery. “While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall,” Carrie’s rep told ET.

On Twitter, Carrie posted an update on her injury after visiting the hospital in November 2017. She says that she underwent a wrist surgery and that all went well. But just hours after 2018, ET reports that there’s something she has yet to reveal to her fans. In fact, she says there has been ‘much uncertainty as to how things will end up.’
Carrie writes, “In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike (her husband) that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.”
Because of this incident, Carrie requests that her fans understand why she might look ‘a bit different’ when she’s finally prepared to face the cameras. Yet despite all that, the singer-songwriter remains hopeful and unwavering in facing her new year.
She also mentions that she’s willing to share her new experiences along the way, “I am determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way.”
