There is only one female in Thanos’ Black Order, and it’s a fitting role that goes to none other than Carrie Croon. She will be lending her voice to the villain Proxima Midnight. “Avengers: Infinity War” directors Joe and Anthony Russo let the news slip in an interview with British magazine Radio Times as reported by Variety.
The “Fargo” and “The Leftovers” star also confirmed the news via Twitter on Monday. In her posts, Coon also mentioned that it’s not only her voice that’ll be in the movie. Thanks to facial motion capture, there’s also going to be a bit of her face.
It's true! My voice and a dazzle of gifted animators have teamed up to play Proxima Midnight:

Aside from “Fargo” and “The Leftovers,” Coon has also starred in “Gone Girl” and the Oscar-nominated Watergate period drama “The Post.” Coon also worked on “The Legacy of Whitetail Deer Hunter” with Josh Brolin, who provides the villainous voice of Thanos. Recently, Coon was nominated as Best Actress in the Critics’ Choice Awards and Outstanding Lead Actress in the Primetime Emmy Awards.
But the year is only starting for the actress. Coon welcomed her first child with husband Tracy Letts. Baby Haskell Letts came into the world on March 13. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Coon referred to her son as the “Spielberg Baby” in tribute to the time he was conceived. She revealed that she was filming Spielberg’s “The Post” then.
The Anti-Avengers Start to Assemble
In addition to Coon, Irish actor Tom Vaughn-Lawlor will be voicing the Black Order member Ebony Maw. Joining him is Terry Notary, who’s playing the role of Cull Obsidian. In an interview with Radio Times, the Russo brothers commended Notary’s movement specializing skills.
“Well, he did voice the character, but he’s one of the most gifted movement specialists in the world right now,” Joe Russo said. Notary has also played roles in “Planet of the Apes” and “The Hobbit.”
The only character left with an empty slot is Corvus Glaive. In the comics, Corvus Glaive is married to Proxima Midnight. Speculations have been going around that this last spot might be taken by “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage.
The actor is a hundred percent confirmed to be a part of “Avengers: Infinity War,” but the directors are very secretive about who Dinklage will play. The only hint the Russo brothers gave is that the audience might have to take a glance or three before they’d recognize the actor.
