It was back in 2020 when it was announced that Netflix ordered the complete Dragon Prince saga with four seasons, and we haven’t gotten any update since. Now, we have a new clip from the upcoming fourth season, and it seems that the series has not been subtitled The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos.
Watch this:
Two years have passed since the Battle of the Storm Spire. Claudia, under the guidance of Aaravos, has successfully resurrected her father, Viren. Meanwhile, Callum—now the High Mage of Katolis—contemplates an ancient relic discovered in his predecessor’s chambers.
The clip basically extends the final scene from the third season, but we do have the reveal that there has been a 2-year time jump. Now we have Callum appointed as the High Mage of Katolis, but what happened to Rayla and Ezran? How about those people Viren had imprisoned? Were they freed when he died or will we just find tiny skeletons in Viren’s secret chambers?
Admittedly, The Dragon Prince didn’t end up being as huge as The Last Airbender, but it certainly has every potential to. I guess with Netflix ordering the full saga, writer Aaron Ehasz can have a full scope of how the story is going to turn out. Let’s hope Netflix doesn’t suddenly pull the plug on the show like Nickelodeon did with The Legend of Korra.
The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos premieres on Netflix this November.
