Very few Star Wars actors manage to keep playing their roles over the course of the decades, but somehow Anthony Daniels keeps finding time to play everyone’s favorite protocol droid, C-3PO. Just in, Daniels is teasing that he’s reprising the character, but for an undisclosed project.
Here’s his post on IG:

It’s worth noting that everytime Daniels played 3PO, he would always be encased in a suit. While the suit looks pretty plain, it has been said that it’s very hard to move around in it, and Daniels couldn’t help but feel claustrophobic whenever he wore it. At least with mo-cap, he’s able to move around a lot more. Let’s just hope that the authentic 3PO movement isn’t lost with this new method.
We don’t know what project Daniels could be working on, but others speculate that it could be for the upcoming Droid Story which was announced back in 2020. Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy (via StarWarsNewsNet) had this to say about the project:
“As Lucasfilm continues to develop new stories, the intersection of animation and visual effects offers new opportunities to explore. Lucasfilm Animation will be teaming up with Lucasfilm’s visual effects team, Industrial Light & Magic, to develop a special Star Wars adventure for Disney+, A Droid Story. This epic journey will introduce us to a new hero, guided by legendary duo R2-D2 and C-3PO.”
Hopefully we get an announcement for Daniels’ Star Wars project soon. In the meantime, you can catch The Book of Boba Fett Wednesdays on Disney+.
