Director Bryan Singer Accused Yet Again of Sexual Misconduct With Minors

Bryan Singer faces new accusations of sexual misconduct involving underage boys. Several men spoke for the first time about their sexual encounter with the Hollywood director in an article from The Atlantic.  Two men claim that Singer, who was in his early 30’s at the time knew they were below the age of consent in California. One of the men was 17 at the time, and the other was 15 when he had sex with them at his mansion in 1997.

The Atlantic spent months speaking with more than 50 sources for the article. And the accusations and allegations vary from the victims being seduced or raped.

Singer’s lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler told The Atlantic that Singer had never been charged or arrested for any crime and that his client completely denies that he has taken a preference or has ever had sex with any underage men.

Singer released a statement through a representative stating that “It’s sad that The Atlantic would stoop to this low standard of journalistic integrity.” Continuing about how the story reuses claims from false lawsuits “filed by a disreputable cast of individuals willing to lie for money or attention. And it is no surprise that, with Bohemian Rhapsody being an award-winning hit, this homophobic smear piece has been conveniently timed to take advantage of its success.”

Back in December 2017, Singer was sued for allegedly raping then 17-year-old Cesar Sanchez Guzman. The X-men and The Usual Suspects director was also fired from Bohemian Rhapsody for recurrent absences and on-set tensions. Despite this, though, he is still listed as the film’s director under the Director’s Guild of America.

The box office hit Bohemian Rhapsody ended up earning $750 million and has earned five Oscar nominations including Best Picture and Best Actor.
