'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 5, Episode 19: 'Bachelor/ette Party' Recap: 'Dirty Pasts' [SPOILERS]

Before Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) and Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) ties the knot, their friends threw them a party. In FOX’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Season 5, Episode 19, titled “Bachelor/ette Party,” the night is young, and the party is on!

The Bach Boys

Although Jake and Amy only dated for eight years, Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) started planning the best bachelor party for Jake 10 years ago. Along the ride was Captain James Holt (Andre Braugher) and Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews). The plan was simple and easy to follow. In the beginning, Charles gets kidnapped by men in a limousine. But he left notes and clues for Jake to solve. But Terry, being the buff man that he is, lured Jake and Captain Holt to eating in a steak restaurant before “saving” Charles. Jake’s nature is getting manipulated by the people around him. All a sudden, they’re in the restaurant, eating steaks. They also have shots on the side.

Friends Forever

After six hours, Jake and the Bach Boys went to solve the puzzle to “save” Charles. To their surprise, the hideout Charles was in is a yacht. He planned a surprise steak and booze party for Jake and his boys. But the Bach boys ate, and their stomachs do not have space for the food they are about to eat. They pretended to like the feast even if the buttons on their shirt starts popping out.

But to an unfortunate turn of events, Jake and the other guys get caught to what they did. When Charles started asking for the items he hid for the scavenger hunt, the Bach Boys can’t give anything. They later on admitted that they skipped the game instead of playing it. Charles’ heart broke and walked out of the yacht.

Although they are best friends, Jake wouldn’t let the night slip knowing that Charles is mad at him. To save their friendship, Jake found a way to locate Charles. He was looking for the items that Jake and the other guys didn’t look for in the scavenger hunt. Jake found Charles and apologized for what they did. But Jake also pointed out that the event was only Charles’ plan. All Jake wanted was to have fun with his friends before he gets married. He promised Charles that they are still best friends even if Amy now holds a special place in his heart.

Secret One-Night Stands

Meanwhile, the girls are running their own world back at Amy’s place. But Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) says that Amy’s part is boring. To turn up the party, Rosa invited the girls for a game of Never Have I Ever. After a few situations, Amy still didn’t drink from her glass.

She later on clarified that the situations were too “wild” for her experience. She abides the law as a real law enforcer. Amy even admits that she reads the terms and conditions before she agrees with it.

But Amy needed to step her game up, so she reveals that she had a one-night stand with a band member. In fact, it was the band from her friend Kylie’s (Sarah Baker) wedding. Then things got loose with her and the band member who later on introduced her as his girlfriend to his mother. Kylie admits that Constantine Kane (Blake Anderson) will play in her wedding along with his band.

Amy goes into panic mode and immediately thinks of cutting the contract with Constantine. She rushes off to the bar where Constantine plays and demands to cancel the event. But Constantine says he can’t because he plans to win Amy back. He even wrote a song titled “Amy, Come Back.” Instead of bargaining, Amy threatens Constantine that she’ll ask Jake to cut the deal. But Constantine, being smart, made Jake sign a contract. In the agreement, Constantine asks $15,000 as a kickback for canceling the deal off.

Amy devises a plan to cancel her ex’s performance at her wedding. The group of girls suggested that she’ll steal the contract and destroy it. However, Amy is a law-abiding citizen. She can’t steal because that is against the law. So instead, the girls take it from Constantine. But he is smart and didn’t let that happen. Amy is a little toasted and has enough courage to break the law. She steals the contract and burns it to the ground.
