Aaron Paul is about to question the nature of his reality.
The Breaking Bad star has signed up to join the cast of HBO’s Westworld in a series regular role, the nature of which is being kept under wraps for now.
Westworld, based on Michael Crichton’s 1973 movie starring Yul Brynner, is from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. The series is described as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Westworld received 21 Emmy nominations for its second season, despite dividing critics on its more complex storyline.
Season two ended on a bloody note with many of the hosts and almost all of the Park’s staff murdered in a series of bloody altercations. The main take-away however involved Bernard killing Dolores and then suffering tremendous remorse for having done so. To make amends, he secretly built a new version of Charlotte Hale and implanted her with Dolores’ consciousness, allowing Dolores (and a handful of as yet unknown others) to finally leave the Park.
With Dolores now finally free and capable of essentially 3-D printing an army, and Bernard vowing to stop her, where a third season of the show may take its characters is wide open to speculation right now.
Paul meanwhile is also a series regular on Appleās upcoming drama Are You Sleeping?
