Newcomer Real Steel punched its way to the number one slot this weekend, trumping George Clooney’s political drama The Ides of March, also in its opening weekend. Despite securing 1st and 2nd place, neither movie managed to pull in big numbers, suggesting that next week’s Box Office will more than likely reflect a shake up in the top five.
Both Dolphin Tale and Moneyball both managed to hold well into their third week, while last week’s Contagion (occupying the number 9 slot) has been effectively eradicated from the top 10, along with Killer Elite.
