At long last, the first full trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody has officially dropped. Featuring extensive footage of the humble and creative beginnings of the band Queen, the trailer is nothing but pure nostalgic greatness. Rami Malek stars as Freddie Mercury, the band’s frontman, as the movie follows how Queen became one of the greatest bands of all time.
The first Bohemian Rhapsody teaser drew harsh criticism on social media for failing to address Mercury’s sexuality and his AIDS diagnosis. The official trailer, however, dives straight into everything that the band had to go through, even showing scenes of Mercury getting with a man and mentioning how AIDS affected the rock singer.
But one thing that’s given more light is how each Queen smash hit was made. Scenes of the band recording “We Will Rock You” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” gave us chills and a massive rush of nostalgia. The cast also did an impressive portrayal of the entire band, with Malek nailing Mercury’s mannerisms and likeness. Seriously, it’s like watching the group do their thing all over again.
