Whitney Houston’s late daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown will be getting her own biopic this fall, a year after she died from drug intoxication and drowning at the young age of 22.
The TV biopic will be simply titled “Bobbi Kristina.” It will explore her life following the death of her mom and how it was a huge struggle for her to find herself after living under Whitney Houston’s shadow for most of her life. It will also give us a closer look at Brown’s troubled relationship with Nick Gordon, who was believed by Bobbi Kristina’s family to be the one who led her to a downward spiral with drugs.
Many within the Brown family believed that Gordon wanted to be romantically involved with her only because he wanted to get a huge chunk out of Houston’s inheritance.
‘Everything Is Always about Whitney!’
In the trailer that dropped for the biopic, Brown can be seen evidently distraught at times, happily soaking up the sun as she rides in a car and leans out, and frustrated as she finally breaks down and speaks about the pressures of being Whitney Houston’s only child.
“Everything is always about Whitney,” she screams at her mom in the clip. “I can never sing as well as you, I can never be the superstar you are.” To which a hurt Whitney replies, “You are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever made.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Death
In 2015, Brown was found dead in a bathtub while lying face down. She then spent six months in the hospital under a coma before she passed away. An autopsy revealed that she had a lethal amount of drugs in her system, including morphine, cocaine, and alcohol. However, it is still unknown as to how she ended up face down in the bathtub. Gordon was later found legally responsible for Brown’s death and was ordered to pay $36 million to Brown’s family estate.
“Bobbi Kristina” stars Joy Rovaris of “Stuck In The Middle” as Bobbi Kristina, Hassan Johnson as Whitney Houston, Nadji Jeter as Brown’s boyfriend Nick Gordon, and Vivica A. Fox as Pat Houston, Brown’s aunt.
The biopic will air on October 8th, 7 PM on TV One.
