The Fates
The gods are dueling for sport in an Olympian arena with many spectators watching. The match is Apollo and Hermes against Ares. Despite their speed and cunning, Ares bests them both, but Zeus intervenes and hurls lightning at Ares.
Zeus arrives to scold Ares for revealing his location, but Hera comes and tells him she already knew beforehand. They arrive home to argue about Zeus’ infidelity. She tells him her heart is broken and swears to kill Electra and Heron. Hera calls him an embarrassment for frolicking with the humans and wants revenge. Zeus tells her to leave Electra’s life in the hands of the Fates or suffer the consequences.
Hermes arrives and tells Zeus that the polis is under attack, and Zeus tells him to clear the cloud covering the village.
The Cerberus chase Alexia and Heron back to the polis. The demons are closing in behind them. Hermes proceeds to run across the clouds to clear them so that Zeus can see what’s happening. The alarm rings, and the townsfolk run for their lives.
Heron triggers his traps, causing boulders to fall on the pursuing demons. He suggests taking the townsfolk to the mines that cut directly through the mountains. Alexia gathers the townsfolk while Heron looks for his mother.
Seraphim
The demonic leader Seraphim hurls his spear at Heron, but he can dodge via Zeus’ warnings from above. As Heron fights the demon, Zeus advises him directly to his head. He reluctantly follows and escapes to safety.
As the evacuation continues, Heron desperately searches for his mother. The Seraphim determines the villager’s intentions and closes the mine entrance with his spear. He dismounts from his chimera and faces the townsfolk. Behind them, the Cerberus and the rest of the demons are closing in.
Seraphim speaks to the townsfolk and asks for Alexia. One of the nobles comes forward named Theognis. The demon recognizes his kin–one of his former enemies. The rest of the demons arrive to report that they’ve picked up Alexia’s scent. But before he leaves, Seraphim murders Theogonis in front of everyone.
Alexia hides deep in the woods. Zeus masks her scent by growing some roses, but Hera responds by leading her cloak back to Electra. The demon’s trace Alexia’s scent from the cloak, and they find their way to Heron’s mother, who is helping an old woman.
Zeus’ Law
Zeus intervenes with his powers, but the gods arrive and tell him to leave Electra’s destiny to the Fates. Zeus demands he’s in the right, but the Pantheon insists that Zeus’ own rules prevent him from doing so. He’s about to lash out in anger when Poseidon stops him.
Zeus is now brimming with anger and ready to unleash his lightning, but the others stand their ground.
The demons find Electra and ask her where Alexia is. They beg for their lives, but Seraphim won’t relent. Electra sees Heron in the distance, so she prays by the medallion. Heron runs to help her and engages in a fight against Seraphim, but he’s no match for the demon’s strength.
Seraphim plunges his spear into Electra’s body, to the devastation of both Heron and Zeus. Heron watches his mother’s lifeless body as he’s taken away by the demons. Seraphim and the demons continue their search for Alexia.
Hera gloats to Zeus about the death of his mistress. Seraphim watches the polis smolder into flames and flies away with the chimera.
Our Thoughts
We witness absolute devastation and emotional damage in this episode. Zeus is always depicted as heroic in many works, but here we see the consequences of his affairs with humans and how he pays heavily for it. I rate this a 3.5/5.
