Blade Runner 2049 Teases An Explosive Neon Future in New Trailer

This year features two Ridley Scott classics hitting the big screen: “Alien: Covenant” and “Blade Runner 2049.” Although much hype is centered around Alien (it’s set to hit theaters this Friday), the latter has just released a smart and visually explosive trailer that gives away not much but just enough for us to be excited. The “Blade Runner” sequel boasts of a follow-up 30 years in the making, and once again features the neon streets of future Los Angeles.

Blade Runner 2049 Trailer: Tone, Effects and Everything You’ll Ever Want in a Sci-Fi Film

Today brings in the second full trailer for “Blade Runner 2049,” and it comes to us through a Facebook Q&A session with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. The neo-noir film features Gosling’s LAPD Officer K as he crosses paths with Ford’s Deckard, a former blade runner who disappeared 30 years ago. Things take a turn for the worst as they find themselves involved in a city-wide conspiracy. This premise, partnered with expert cinematography and gorgeous effects makes us hopeful that Director Denis Villeneuve will deliver one of this year’s best Sci-Fi films. Echoing a 30-year-old legacy isn’t hard, but judging by the new trailer, we’re all in for a visual masterpiece that pays homage to one of the greatest directors of our time.

Rooting itself in the previous iteration of its predecessor, “Blade Runner 2049” is brimming with a dystopian setting that oozes in cyberpunk awesomeness and 80’s-style future descriptions. The trailer also shows new footage along with a glimpse of the main cast: Jared Leto, Dave Bautista and Robin Wright. There’s intrigue, mystery and an expanded character storyline. This new trailer is a visual paradise for “Blade Runner” and sci-fi fans in general, giving us an authentic look of a world that’s not so distant and closer to being one of this year’s best.

“Blade Runner 2049” hits theaters on October 6, 2017. Watch the new trailer below:
